Thank you for choosing to spend time at Kozey Acres. We're honored to welcome you into this special place.

Whether you're joining us for a guided gathering, a personal experience, a workshop, a retreat, or simply quiet time on the land, our hope is that you leave feeling just a little more peaceful than when you arrived.

Before your visit, please take a few moments to review the information below. It explains what you can expect, how to prepare, and a few practical details that help create a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming experience for everyone.

The Nature of Kozey Acres

Kozey Acres offers nature-based experiences designed to encourage rest, reflection, creativity, connection, and time outdoors. Experiences may include guided gatherings, personal experiences, workshops, retreats, self-guided visits, and other wellness-focused offerings.

Although Sharon Kozey Greene is a Licensed Professional Counselor, participation in any Kozey Acres experience is entirely separate from her counseling practice. Participation does not constitute psychotherapy, counseling, medical care, crisis intervention, or any other healthcare service, nor does it establish a therapist-client relationship.

What to Expect

Kozey Acres is a natural outdoor environment. During your visit, you may encounter:

  • Uneven terrain

  • Tree roots, rocks, and natural obstacles

  • Mud or wet ground

  • Changing weather conditions

  • Insects and wildlife

  • Other naturally occurring environmental conditions common to wooded settings

These elements are part of the beauty and experience of spending time in nature. We encourage guests to wear appropriate footwear and clothing, move at their own pace, and use reasonable care while exploring the land.

Your Participation

Your participation is always voluntary.

You are encouraged to listen to your body, honor your own comfort level, and participate only in activities that feel appropriate for you. You are welcome to pause, modify, or step away from any activity at any time.

Helping Us Welcome You

If there is anything you would like Sharon to know before your visit—including accessibility needs, mobility concerns, allergies, medical considerations, or other accommodations—please let us know in advance. We will make every reasonable effort to support your experience and help you feel comfortable while you're here.

Photography

From time to time, photographs may be taken during public gatherings or experiences to share the beauty and spirit of Kozey Acres through our website, social media, or other promotional materials.

Your privacy and comfort are important. If you prefer not to appear in photographs, simply let Sharon know before your experience begins, and your wishes will be gladly honored.

Weather

Experiences are generally held rain or shine. However, if severe weather or other unsafe conditions require a cancellation or postponement, participants will be notified by email and/or text with information regarding rescheduling or other available options.

Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

I understand that participating in outdoor activities involves inherent risks that cannot be entirely eliminated.

By choosing to participate in activities at Kozey Acres, I voluntarily assume the ordinary risks associated with spending time in a natural outdoor environment.

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I release and hold harmless Kozey Acres, Sharon Kozey Greene, its owners, employees, volunteers, contractors, and representatives from liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from ordinary negligence to the fullest extent permitted under Connecticut law.

This release does not apply to reckless, intentional, or otherwise unlawful conduct.

Acknowledgment

By participating in a Kozey Acres experience, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this Guest Agreement & Participation Waiver. I understand the nature of the experiences offered at Kozey Acres, voluntarily choose to participate, accept the inherent risks associated with spending time outdoors, and agree to the terms outlined above.
